This project is a documentary photography series I completed in 2021. The goal of this project is to bring the viewer closer to Salzburg’s subculture of plane spotters. Despite Salzburg’s small and seemingly unremarkable airport the community of plane spotters is stronger than one might expect. Plane spotting as a hobby or passion is itself intriguing for outstanders, who do not relate to the appreciation the community has for aviation.

The pre production of this project began in late 2020. The project was shot in the first half of 2021 and completed in July.
